| Re-stitching is a common repair that extends the life of your cover and it's money wisely spent. (as long as the fabric is not rotten and it fits the boat.) Every seam on the cover is run through the sewing machine giving it 'new' thread. The old thread is still there, but a new lock stitch is also in place extending the thread life for another 6 to 10 years. Many factory and custom covers have thread that only lasts 3 to 5 years. The reinforcing pads are re-stitched, holes are fixed and snaps replaced where needed. Grommets, rope, straps and excessive damage is extra(per hour plus materials) | |

A quality enclosure provides many years of protection from the elements when you need it. HOW LONG WILL IT LAST ? If you set it up only when you need it, it will last 15 years or more. If you leave it set up every day(during the summer), it will last almost as long as a boat cover(5 to 7 years). If you leave it set up all winter(outside), it will last 2 to 5 years. But you would never do that. Plan on 2~3 weeks from the day work is started on your boat to fabricate your enclosure. |

I hope this price list has helped you find the information you need.
Boats have so many variables to consider, a complete price list is difficult.
As a result this page is always a work in progress.
Please contact the shop with any questions you may have.
Prices may seem high to you and I agree. You can thank the corporate controlled Government.
If you think my price is too high, your boat may not work with this price list.
Gennerally, if my price is too high, try another shop to get your work done, you might find a cheaper place.. let me know so I can post it here...
Most shops in Ohio have higher prices than I do and the average was 2 to 4 hundred more on a pontoon cover. I did find a few shops in Ohio that were less. One was at Indian Lake, but they were using a cheaper fabric than sunbrella. So they might be the same or more using sunbrella. All my prices are based on the sunbrella price model as it seems to be the best market indicator and an average priced fabric with great durability.
Some people have called me asking if the prices were right and if the labor was added on to the price. I see where they are coming from and I went through that when I started,, everyone was doing the stuff for nothing (20' pontoon sunbrella covers $350)while inflation took them all out of business
Today, my prices are figured to include:
- fabric invoice, cost of material and shipping.
- shop supplies, snaps, thread, and trimmings.
- percentage of all utilities and property taxes since I work at a residence.
- plus my time. with my background, it should be 35 an hour or more. But it's far from it.
- This web site is the cheapest monthly bill the shop has at $8 bucks a month.
That brings up the question,,
Why the hell do i bother with all this crap for not much money?
- I like boats.
- I'm a detail freak.
- I like to work at home.
- It's clean work.
Before the canvas shop, I was driving 14 hours a day or tearing apart semi trucks, dump trucks, bulldozers, backhoes, forklifts -greasy crap- - It's neat to work by the water.
- I don't have to tell the boss to go to hell, and quit, to put him in a bad spot with no little worker to step on.
- I never have to worry about getting a raise, dosen't exist.
- I can come in late every day, if i want.
- I can work as many hours as I want without someone dictating to me what I can or can't do.
- I don't have to fill out a log book to document my hours and location. It's none of their dam business.
- I no longer have to deal with all those government regulations.
-- It's most certainly not for the money --- Many people would not survive on my HUGE income.
IF you try to Jew me down,
I will point you to the door immediately, I have sent many hagglers to the door..........
If you start that out-the-door, tax-n-title crap, just leave me alone and go CAR shopping. ...I was in car sales many years ago...
I am happy to explain a price and how it adds up.
I might go down in price if there is an actual "boat related" reason for doing so.

I am not against anyone that wants to get things done for very little money,, I know that routine all too well.
If that is the case with you, then you must do the work yourself,, It has been that way for 40 years with me.
I do all my own work on everything,,, ecept machine-shop / metal-shop stuff, when i don't have the equipment.
Have I ever done things for free on the boat while in my expert care?
YES, practically every boat gets some kind of mechanically related TLC.
What else would you expect from a 'Master Mechanic'.
