Dave's Canvas is not a member of the BetterBusinessBereau and NEVER will be. My customers would rather have a quality cover at a fair price. Paying the BBB 3 or 4 hundred dollars a year for nothing is just another waste of money.

Dave's Canvas has been located on Buckeye Lake since 1995, fabricating Custom covers, tops, enclosures, and upholstery for boats. You can get here by water, if you are on Buckeye Lake.
First custom boat upholstery job was in 1985, ten years before opening up the canvas shop. I still have the boat, if you want to see it. The first boat cover I made in 1995 took me a week to complete, this is true. I had no clue where to start, but that has all changed. Now I blaze into a project with a real plan on what the end result needs to be.
Why boats? Boating and camping have been a family pass time since before I was born. Camping led to being an Eagle Scout, and boating?
Look in the parking area and you will see 6 boats, my hobby. One goes as fast as you can row, and yet another will do over a hundred MPH. One thing I know, you will have fun no mater how fast the boat goes.

What I was doing before opening the Canvas Shop
I bring to the canvas shop a wide range of skills learned through the course of working different jobs, in an effort to survive in a country where working people make nothing and the cost of living keeps going up. Vacation? I am not sure what that is, but I have heard of it.
- Snow Cat operator, and repair...( feels weird to drive up the ski slopes )
really cool, snow cat was 12' wide, 26' long, and plenty of power.
- Snow making machine set up, maintenance, and repair...( wet & cold job. )
- Carpentry work of all kinds...( I built the shop here at the lake )
- General home repairs and remodeling...( rather be out on the boat )
- Plumbing work of all kinds...( residential and commercial )
- Electrical work of all kinds...( high and low voltage )
- Forming and pouring concrete...( residential and commercial )
- Steel and aluminum fabrication and welding...( it's everywhere )
- Fork lift operator and repair...( bumpy ride and hard to fix )
- Automotive repair and painting...( I would rather work on a boat )
- Semi truck and trailer repair...( front to back, top to bottom, inside and out )
- Heavy construction equipment repair and maintenance
- Diesel mechanic on Cummins & Detroit...( big engines are neat )
- Bicycle, lawn mower, and motorcycle repair...( fun stuff! )
- Semi truck driver, over 1Million miles 48 states all weather
- Backhoe, skid steer, and dump truck operator...( playing in the dirt )
- Selling cars...( A fun job to have, if you like weekends at work.)
- Boat and fiberglass repair of all kinds...( toys, toys, toys )
- Outboard motor modification, rebuilding, and repair...( toys )
- Marine lower unit modification, rebuilding, and repair...( toys )
- Industrial sewing machine repair...( who else is going to fix it? )
Well.....mmmm, probably forgetting a few things. I guess you would say I am a hands on kind of person. When something breaks, grab some tools and take it apart. Find out what makes it tick, and make it tick again !
